Stop “Eyeballing” Your Gingivectomies.
Freehand gum contouring often leads to asymmetry or violation of the biological width, causing chronic inflammation or tissue rebound (regrowth). China Dental Labo offers Crown Lengthening Guide Design Services that map out exactly where to cut the tissue and, crucially, where to reduce the bone.
Technical Engineering Specifications
We combine esthetic principles with periodontal biology to design a guide that ensures long-term stability:
Esthetic Planning (DSD)
- Gingival Zeniths: We align the zeniths of the centrals and canines to be symmetrical, with the laterals slightly lower (0.5mm – 1mm), following standard DSD protocols.
- Proportion Analysis: We aim for the ideal width-to-length ratio (75-80%) for the final crown or veneer.
Biological Planning
- Bone Reduction Guide: If you are placing veneers, simply cutting the gum is not enough. We design a guide that shows you exactly how much bone to remove (Ostectomy) to maintain a 3mm distance from the new margin to the bone crest (Biological Width).
- Dual-Guide Option: We can provide a stacked guide: Layer 1 for the Gingivectomy, Layer 2 for the Bone Reduction.
Clinical Applications
This service is essential for:
- Gummy Smile Correction: Reducing excessive gingival display.
- Short Clinical Crowns: Exposing more tooth structure for retention before prepping a crown.
- Uneven Gum Line: Harmonizing the soft tissue before placing anterior veneers (6-10 units).
Seamless Digital Workflow
- Scan: Upload Intraoral Scans + CBCT (if bone reduction is needed) + Face Photo (Smiling).
- Prescribe: Tell us the goal (e.g., “Lengthen centrals to 10.5mm” or “Match zenith of #8 to #9”).
- Design: We deliver the STL file(s) overnight.
- Print: Print using clear Surgical Guide resin.
Doing Anterior Veneers?
