Stop Waxing Frameworks by Hand.
Traditional surveying and waxing of partial dentures is an art form that is dying out. It is slow, inconsistent, and labor-intensive. China Dental Labo offers Digital RPD Framework Design services that replicate the precision of a master technician. We digitally survey the model, determine the path of insertion, and design the clasps for optimal retention.
Technical Engineering Specifications
Whether you are printing in Cobalt-Chrome (SLM) or milling PEEK, we adjust the parameters to suit the material properties:
Surveying & Block-out
- Path of Insertion: We calculate the optimal tilt to minimize dead zones while engaging the most effective undercuts for retention.
- Undercut Engagement: We calibrate the clasp tip depth (e.g., 0.25mm for CoCr, 0.5mm for Gold/PEEK) to ensure the denture snaps in but doesn’t stress the abutment tooth.
Connector Design
- Major Connectors: Lingual Bar, Lingual Plate, or Palatal Strap designed with proper hygiene relief (offset from tissue) or intimate contact as requested.
- Finish Lines: Sharp, distinct internal and external finish lines for clean acrylic junctions.
Applications & Materials
| Product Type | Description | Ideal Manufacturing |
|---|---|---|
| Metal Framework | Classic RPD design with clasps (Akers, RPI) and mesh. | SLM Printing (CoCr) or Wax Print & Cast. |
| Flexible / PEEK | Metal-free design with thicker clasps for flexibility. | Milling (PEEK) or Injection Molding (Valplast). |
| Record Base | Simple base plate for wax rims/bite registration. | SLA/DLP Resin Printing. |
Seamless Digital Workflow
- Scan: Upload Model Scan or Intraoral Scan (Upper/Lower). *Capture the vestibule clearly.*
- Prescribe: Specify the design (e.g., “Kennedy Class I, Lingual Bar, RPI clasps on #20, #29”).
- Design: We deliver the STL file overnight.
- Produce: Print directly on your SLM machine or print a wax pattern to cast.
Transitioning to SLM?
Metal 3D printing requires specific support structures to prevent warping. We can add these supports to the design upon request.
